Supply continuity

Backup and overflow POM sourcing starts with specification control

When a primary source is constrained, send the original material wording, dimensions, documentation requirement, quantity and date. PlasNexa reviews equivalence and sourcing rather than assuming substitution.

Direct answer

A backup source is useful only when it preserves the buyer's required identity and acceptance criteria. Generic POM, POM-C, POM-H and branded Delrin cannot be substituted for one another without review.

Preserve the controlling specification

Send the drawing, purchase specification, prior material designation or documentation requirement that controls acceptance. Remove private supplier pricing before sharing unless it is necessary and authorized.

Separate urgent from important

State the required date and business impact without turning it into a delivery promise. Stock, source, shipping and technical equivalence all need independent confirmation.

Qualification before substitution

A second source may require samples, documents, inspection or buyer approval. The RFQ should capture those gates rather than treating a similar material name as proof of equivalence.

Buyer questions

Will PlasNexa substitute another POM grade automatically?

No. Named grades, brands, certificates and equivalence requirements remain explicit review items.

Can I send an urgent overflow request?

Yes. Include the required date and destination, but availability and delivery remain subject to confirmation.
